Poviglio is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Reggio Emilia in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna, located about northwest of Bologna and about northwest of Reggio Emilia. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 6,803 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 The municipality of Poviglio contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Case Molinara, Case Motta, Case San Francesco, Case Via Piccola, Fodico, Godezza, Gruara, La Maestà, Oratorio Zamboni, Enzola and San Sisto.
