Porlezza is a ''comune'' (municipality) on Lake Lugano in the Province of Como in the Italian region Lombardy, located about north of Milan and about north of Como. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 4,325 and an area of .〔All demographics and other statistics: Italian statistical institute Istat.〕 The municipality of Porlezza contains the ''frazioni'' (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Begna, Cima, and Tavordo. Porlezza borders the following municipalities: Bene Lario, Carlazzo, Claino con Osteno, Corrido, Lenno, Ossuccio, Ponna, Val Rezzo, Valsolda.
