IonGrid
ionGrid was a Mountain View, California-based privately funded business software company founded in 2010 by former NVIDIA executives Nick Triantos, Ben de Waal, Gary King, and Michael Rothrock. On February 13, NetApp announced the acquisition of the company. Nexus Enterprise, was initially released in November 2011. In December 2012 Nexus was renamed as Stratos.〔(Ben Stein, ionGrid December 3 2012: "Nexus is now Stratos" )〕
Stratos is a client/server secure document access and collaboration application for use with mobile devices. The Stratos client is designed to establish a secure connection with the server component which is deployed behind a data center firewall, without using a VPN connection. Stratos assigned policies to Active Directory groups to allow authorized users to access, view, and annotate business documents. It also provides a built-in HTML5 web browser to access intranet hosted corporate applications. Stratos currently supports Apple iOS-based mobile devices only, an Android client is under development.
