Hyperwords

Hyperwords was a term used for interactive text. Whereas the term 'hyper-links' means words that are linked to specific destinations, hyperwords refers to enabling any word to be made to interact with other programs such as emails, dictionaries, on-line translators etc. through a simple set of commands. The project is now known as Liquid Information or simply 'Liquid', dropping the hyper prefix which was used to work with the hyper prefix for hypertext and using the more general name of interactive text, produced by the Liquid Information Company.〔(The Liquid Information Company's website )〕
The Hyperwords concept has been implemented as a server plug-in and as a plug-in for the Firefox, Flock, Chrome and Safari web browsers. It is a selection-based interface which can be used for references, searches, blogging, emailing, copying, conversions and language translation.
The Hyperwords Project grew out of a research project at University College London. It was taken on by The Hyperwords Company which changed its name to The Liquid Information Company in 2012. It is now developed and maintained by The Liquid Information Company〔(Liquid Information Company information webpage )〕 in London, UK. Frode Hegland heads the company. The original development of Liquid (OS X) was by Daoxin Z in China followed by Konstantin R (TIANI Studio) in Poland and Zuzex llc in Russia. The Liquid Browser add-ons for Firefox, Chrome, and Safari were developed by Mikhail S and Alex V in Russia and Tobias H in Germany.〔
The company's Advisory Board includes Douglas Engelbart, Ted Nelson, Vint Cerf, Dave Farber, Bruce Horn and Douglas Rushkoff.〔(Liquid OS X )〕
