Aphariya also spelt as Affariya अफ़्फरिया, Afariya अफरिया or Phariya फरिया is a clan (gotra) of Yaduvanshi Ahirs. According to The Rajputana gazetteers Aphariyas of Rewari belonged to Jadaun clan. Aphariyas ruled the Rewari state. Rao Nand Ram ruler of Rewari was from this gotra.〔Realm and region in traditional India〕 ==History== At the beginning of the eighteenth century, the Rewari kingdom was established by an Ahir military chief, Rao Nandaram who received a jagir of 360 villages around Rewari, and the Mughal emperor Farrukhsiyar (1713-19) conferred to him the title of Chaudhri, the ‘Status’ at that time strictly onnected with military power. Affariya started migrating from Tijara in Alwar Rajasthan and later on came to Rewari in Haryana. Elliot'' accounts show that Ahirs of all the provinces trace their origin from Mathura or places little west to it. The Apharias are the distinct sub-division of Ahir caste. In Mughal period, Apharia, Kaushaliya and Kosa were major aristocratic Ahir clans, who had direct contacts with the Mughal State Representatives.
