esomeprazole : ウィキペディア英語版
esomeprazole

Esomeprazole () is a proton pump inhibitor (brand name Nexium, and many others worldwide〔) which reduces stomach acid secretion through inhibition of the H+/K+ ATPase in the parietal cells of the stomach. By inhibiting the functioning of this transporter, the drug prevents formation of stomach acid.
It is used in the treatment of dyspepsia, peptic ulcer disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.
Esomeprazole is the ''S''-enantiomer of omeprazole (brand name Prilosec/Losec). Generic versions of esomeprazole strontium are sold worldwide.〔Drugs.com (International brand names ) Page accessed January 17, 2015〕 As well, Nexium (esomeprazole magnesium) is currently sold over the counter through the US (in the lower, 20 mg dose)
==Medical use==
The primary uses of esomeprazole are gastroesophageal reflux disease, treatment and maintenance of erosive esophagitis, treatment of duodenal ulcers caused by ''H. pylori'', prevention of gastric ulcers in those on chronic NSAID therapy, and treatment of gastrointestinal ulcers associated with Crohn's disease.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 url = http://www.drugs.com/monograph/esomeprazole-magnesium.html )
