Shifang is its city seat. Wanyuan has more than 100.000 inhabitants. ==Geography== Wanyuan has a monsoon-influenced humid subtropical climate (Köppen ''Cwa''), with cool, damp winters and hot, humid summers; winter temperatures are significantly cooler than in the Sichuan Basin. The monthly 24-hour average temperature ranges from in January to in July and August, the latter figure being comparable to Chengdu, while the annual mean is . About two-thirds of the of annual precipitation occurs from June to September.
