==History==
The station had The WPDQ call letters from 1969 to 1975, then WAIV FM 97, with an AOR format until August 1978. On January 1, 1990, the station changed its call sign to WKQL, and carried an oldies format as "Cool 96.9." In January 2005, the station flipped to a classic hits format (similar to WXGL down in Tampa, heavily based on 1970s rock, with some 1980s songs and a few 1960s songs.]〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=WJGL Call Sign History )
By 2012, following the flip of Clear Channel Communications' WJGH from classic hits to adult hits, WJGL became the market's only classic hits station.
