Purch is the trade name of used by TechMediaNetworks, Inc., and its corporate affiliates. The company, based in New York City, was founded in 2003 and engages in the online marketing business. The company operates a large number of popular websites (see List of websites below). In 2014, it rebranded itself as Purch "to better reflect its growing portfolio of brands and products focused on purchasing decisions".

In 2009, TopTenREVIEWS, Inc. was rebranded as TechMedia Network, Inc. following the acquisition of LiveScience, Space.com and Newsarama from Imaginova.〔Mike Shields, ("The Hot Web Content Company You’ve Never Heard Of" ), Digiday〕 In 2011, TechMedia Network, Inc. acquired the print- and online-assets of LAPTOP Magazine (now, exclusively a web publication known as Laptop Mag) from Bedford Communications.〔Stefanie Botelho,("TechMediaNetwork Acquires LAPTOP Magazine and Laptop.com" ), FolioMag〕 In July 2013, the company acquired Bestofmedia Group,〔Eliza Brook, ("TechMedia Network Buys Bestofmedia Group And Steps Up Content-Commerce Integration" ), TechCrunch〕 publisher of Tom’s Hardware, Tom’s Guide, Tom’s IT Pro and a variety of sister publications across Europe.
