Ticuqueiros

Ticuqueiros is a Brazilian band from the State of Pernambuco. In the Forest Zone in the State of Pernambuco, the “ticuqueiro” is a rural worker responsible for removing the weed around the shoot of sugar cane plantations and for the harvest. The Ticuqueiros have always created the folklore in the region developing cultural expressions like the maracatu, the cavalo-marinho, the coco, the ciranda, the carnival troupe and the forró. The name of the band Ticuqueiros refers to this rural worker, the main character in the musical culture in the Forest Zone of Pernambuco.
==Members==
The group is formed by Marquinhos Ralph (lead singer, sax and pífano), João Paulo Rosa (percussion and vocal), Sid3 (drums), André Arcoverde (guitar), Fábio Pipa (percussion), Charles Olyver (bass) and Babá of Olinda (trombone).
