Svetina

Svetina () is a settlement in the Municipality of Štore in eastern Slovenia. It lies in the hills south of Štore. The area was traditionally part of the Styria region. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Savinja Statistical Region.〔(Štore municipal site )〕
The parish church in the settlement is dedicated to the Mother of God and belongs to the Roman Catholic Diocese of Celje. It predates its earliest mention in written documents in 1480.〔(Slovenian Ministry of Culture register of national heritage ) reference number ešd 3331〕 Next to the church is a chapel dedicated to the Holy Cross. It dates to the late 15th century, but was extensively rebuilt after a fire in 1714 that destroyed most of the village.〔(Slovenian Ministry of Culture register of national heritage ) reference number ešd 3332〕
