Mangavilai

Mangavilai "மங்காவிளை" is a village in the Kanyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, India. Mangavilai comes under the Dharmapuram Panchayat, and is 9 km from Nagercoil, the district headquarters of Kanyakumari. The name Mangavilai means undestroyable fame.
==History==
Mangavilai is one of the small villages in the Kanyakumari district. There is generally only one relationship in the village i.e. brother and sister's relationship. This is the main feature of the village. It has the population of around 850 peoples. The village has a name board in the entrance written in three languages (Hindi, Tamil and English). In Kanyakumari district, there are few villages having name boards with three or more languages and the same name board was established on 24.09.1985. It is a peculiar display.
Basically the peoples are hard workers. They went up to Member of Parliament level. One of the village man contested in a Parliament election against the greatest leader Shri K. Kamaraj (Ex-Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu) in 1972, but he failed and became a Rajyasabha Member. His name is Shri M C Balan, Ex-MP.
