Madha

The Omani territory of Madha ((アラビア語:مدحاء)) or ''Wadi Madha'' is an exclave of Oman, surrounded by the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It is located halfway between the Musandam Peninsula and the rest of Oman. It forms part of the Musandam Governorate.
The exclave is on the FujairahKhor Fakkan road in the Emirate of Sharjah of the UAE and covers approximately 75 km² (29 sq mi). There are two exits to Madha on the Fujairah–Khorfakkan road. The boundary was settled in 1969.
Madha is mostly empty, with the developed portion, called "New Madha", containing roads, a school, post office, an 'Eid ground, police station, an Omani bank, electricity and water supply, and an airstrip. There is also a Royal Oman Police patrol.
The population is less than 3,000.
Inside Madha, there is an exclave of the UAE called Nahwa, which is part of the Emirate of Sharjah.
In 2014, it was announced that a Madha Museum would be built to house the collection of local historian Mohammed bin Salem al Mad’hani.
=== People of Madha ===
The people of Madha used Muhammad bin Salih, the Shihhi sheikh of Sibbah Bai'ah, as their government. There was no profit being under his rule as they wanted a stronger government. A grand meeting was held between three sheikhs. When asked by Sai'd bin Taimur and Hamad Bin Muhammad Sharqi, Qasimi Sheikhs, which land they would choose to be apart of, they said the land of Oman due to land fertility and livestock. The culture includes weaving baskets and making clay vases and such.
Some Mad'hanis left to Surat, India for business in the early 7-15th century. They specialized in silk and diamond businesses. The Mad'hanis changed their last name to Madha to be more recognizable of their origins. Since their move they have become a well known tribe in the village of Variav, India due to their recognizable Waterworks implemented in the city. Many of them have resided in Southeast Asian countries or the Americas.
