Guich

The guich tribes〔http://www.persee.fr/web/revues/home/prescript/article/medit_0025-8296_1967_num_8_3_1247〕 (Arabic: jaysh, literally "warring tribes") are privileged groups established by sultan to limit of subject and breakaway regions. In part against this state of permanent mobilization, usually for defensive purposes, but sometimes offensive, tribe received concession of an agricultural territory divided on military organization plan regiments, companies and sections.
This system was invented in sixteenth century by sultans of Saadi dynasty that appeal to Arab tribes. They were organized into tribes "guich" or "Makhzen".
In seventeenth century, sultan Moulay Ismail kept institution of guich giving him a big extension.
The guich tribes of Marrakesh are composed of Arab tribes whose Tekna, Oudaya, Oulad Dlim, Mnabha, Ida Ou Blal and some Berber tribes whose Ait Imour.
