Gierczyn

Gierczyn ((ドイツ語:Giehren)) is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Mirsk, within Lwówek Śląski County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, close to the Czech border. It lies approximately south of Mirsk, south-west of Lwówek Śląski, and west of the regional capital Wrocław.
Prior to 1945 it was in Germany. After World War II the region was placed under Polish administration and ethnically cleansed according to the post-war Potsdam Agreement. The native German populace was expelled and replaced with Poles.
