Dadau
The Dadau is a tributary of the river Hunte. For the most part of its upper course it forms the border between the administrative districts of Diepholz and Vechta and for a lesser part of its lower course it forms the border between the town of Diepholz and Barnstorf Samtgemeinde.
== Route ==
The 16.6 km long Dadau has its source in the Diepholzer Moorniederung in Südlohner Moor near the town of Lohne. Then it flows northwards between Südlohner, the Brägeler Moor to the west and the Aschener Moor to the east and kinks at the border of Lohne and Vechta on its left bank and heads east. Behind Bundesstraße 69 the Dadau flows in an easterly but sometimes south-easterly direction. In the final section it runs through in full latitude (upstream its right bank belongs to Diepholz) the municipal area of Drebber. The Dadau joins the Hunte, and a few metres east of Bundesstraße 51 in Cornau, a part of Drebber. The Hunte carries on flowing northwards towards Oldenburg. Between the Hunte and the Dadau is Deckau also a part of Drebber.
In 2003 the towns of Vechta and Diepholz as well as the municipal area of Drebber decided to match their borders with the current route of the Dadau. In 2004 the administrative districts which would have been affected, agreed to the change of their borders. Altogether Diepholz was increased in size by 0.8323 ha (8323sq mi) at the Vechta's expense.〔Landkreis Diepholz: (''Vorlage 115/2004 für die Kreistagssitzung am 25. Oktober 2004'' )〕
