Pamplico, South Carolina

Pamplico is a town in southeastern Florence County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 1,139 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Florence Metropolitan Statistical Area.
==Geography==
Pamplico is located at (33.996071, -79.567777). It is located near the Pee Dee River, approximately 19 miles south of Florence. South Carolina Highway 51, a secondary thoroughfare for traffic to Myrtle Beach intersects the town.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which, of it is land and 0.54% is water.
It is also the hometown of former South Carolina Lieutenant Governor, Ken Ard, who resigned his office amid an ethics investigation and was later convicted after pleading guilty to seven charges of using campaign money fraudulently and using his personal money to enhance his campaign by giving it to friends who returned the money as campaign contributions.
