Barry Dean (born 1967) is a prolific country and pop music songwriter based out of Nashville, Tennessee. Currently, Dean has written two No. 1 singles with “Pontoon” (Little Big Town), and “Day Drinking” (Little Big Town), a Top 40 hit with “Girls Chase Boys” (Ingrid Michaelson) and a long list of other songwriting successes to his name. Dean has co-written many hit radio singles including Jason Aldean’s “1994,” Brothers Osborne’s “Rum,” Hunter Hayes’ “Tattoo,” Toby Keith’s “Drinks After Work,” Martina McBride’s “God’s Will” and Tim McGraw’s current single, “Diamond Rings and Old Barstools.” The smash success of Ingrid Michaelson’s single marked Dean’s first single on the Pop charts. “Girls Chase Boys” landed at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot AC and No. 21 on the Top 40 chart.
