Anglican Province of Abuja

The Abuja Province is one of the 14 ecclesiastical provinces of the Church of Nigeria. It is one of the original 10 provinces, created when the current division was adopted in 2002, due to the huge dimension and growth of the Church of Nigeria. His headquarters are located in Abuja.〔(Abuja Province Dioceses at the Church of Nigeria Official Website )〕 The diocese comprises 17 dioceses, 96 archdeaconries and 476 parishes. The first Archbishop and Bishop of the Diocese of Abuja was Peter Akinola, from 2002 to 2010. He was succeeded by the current Archbishop, the Primate of Nigeria, Nicholas Okoh, who also holds office as Bishop of the Diocese of Abuja since 25 March 2010.〔(List of the Ecclesiastical Provinces and Dioceses of the Church of Nigeria )〕
The province comprises 17 dioceses:

* Idah (14 March 2005; Bishop: Joseph N. Musa)
* Ijumu (27 May 2008; Bishop: E. F. Kupolati)
* Kafanchan (5 September 1990; Bishop: William Diya)
* Kontagora (8 March 2007; Bishop: Jonah N. Ibrahim)
* Kubwa (19 March 2005; Bishop: Duke T. Akamisoko, appointed 2009; note: formerly Simon Bala who died November 2008)
* Kutigi (24 May 2008; Bishop: Jeremiah N. Kolo)
