Dol"erite
(), n.[Gr. deceitful; because it was easily confounded with diorite.] (Geol. & Min.) A dark-colored, basic, igneous rock, composed essentially of pyroxene and a triclinic feldspar with magnetic iron. By many authors it is considered equivalent to a coarse-grained basalt.
